Outer Ring Road Progress PHOTOS

By Ken

When you listen to the government speak, you get the sense that they’ve ‘overachieved’ or are very good in PR. According to official figures, Jubilee has built more than 2000 km of roads and has hundreds of kilometres planned before their first term ends.

They have doubled Kenyan households electricity connection, and increased school connection from 35% to 98%.

Plus many other big things.

Are Kenyans too blind to see these developments or has mega corruption overshadowed everything else?

Whatever the case, you will be pleased to learn that the construction of Nairobi’s 13 km Outer Ring road is going on well. The project has fallen behind schedule a few times, with the initial cost estimate rising by Sh8 billion.

The road is being done in four sections.

The first starts from GSU Junction at Thika Road to Kariobangi Junction. The second section will run from Kariobangi to the Kangundo Road junction, while the third section will pick up from there to Donholm junction.

The fourth part will cover Donholm to the Eastern Bypass Juction

CA sounds alert on fake software

The telecommunications sector watchdog has warned companies and individual Internet users from buying fake software, saying it now offers hackers the most common loophole for executing cyber-attacks. The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), through the National Computer Incident Response Team Co-ordination Centre (National KE-CIRT/CC), warned on Thursday that cybercriminals have changed tack and are now using third-party software to deliver threats to unsuspecting users in an attempt to compromise and steal their personal data. “Though Kenya has not been adversely affected by such attacks as at now, the trend depicts a serious concern in cybercrime management and thus a precaution should be taken when dealing with outsourced products and personnel,” said acting CA director- general Christopher Kemei in a statement. Kenyan businesses lose billions of shillings and troves of sensitive information to hackers every year. SOURCE
