Evangelist Lucy Wa Ngunjiri Speaks On Uhuru park drama

Praise the living God! After all is said and done; Deuteronomy 32:4 "The Rock! His work is perfect, for all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He.” I looked forward to this day to know the fate of our scheduled Interdenominational Prayer Rally venue. We have prayed and I thank thousands of you who wished me well. Am humbled by your love and concern; may our good God remember you in your time of need and show you mercy in Jesus name! I also pity those who blasphemed my God and ridiculed me using all kinds of insults through this Altar. That made me stronger and such incidences qualifies me to be a follower of Jesus Christ and God’s servant. Hallelujah!  NB: My face book page is NOT a political arena but an Altar where God is enthroned and His Kingdom established. All the same, you all have rewards according to the Bible in 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive wha

José, 53, has managed at the top level of European football for over a decade and in that time has won league titles and cups in four countries (Portugal, England, Italy and Spain), as well as winning the UEFA Champions League twice – in 2004 with FC Porto and in 2010 with Inter Milan. Announcing the appointment, Ed Woodward said: "José is quite simply the best manager in the game today. He has won trophies and inspired players in countries across Europe and, of course, he knows the Premier League very well, having won three titles here. "I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome him to Manchester United. His track record of success is ideal to take the club forward." José Mourinho said: "To become Manchester United manager is a special honour in the game. It is a club known and admire

World Bank Approves US$150 Million(15Billion) Support for Kenya’s Youth

Via WORLD BANK The World Bank Board of Executive Directors today approved a US$150 million International Development Association (IDA)* program to support 280,000 Kenyan youth to increase their employment and earnings opportunities. The Project is expected to run for a five year period. The beneficiaries of the new Youth Employment and Opportunities Project are persons aged between 18 and 29 years, who are without jobs and have experienced extended spells of unemployment, or are currently working in vulnerable jobs. The Project is an effort to respond to the high numbers of new entrants to the workforce who are presently outpacing the capacity of the Kenyan economy to absorb them in productive employment. It is a unique project in that it better prepares young people for the labor market and at the same time, supports the creation of new and better jobs in the market. “Young people are the lifeblood to drive forward Kenya’s economy. But in all our conversations with the y

Gay Kenyan man gets married to his American boyfriend

A 33 year old Kenyan man has tied the knot with another man in Michigan, USA. Ben Gitau, who hails from Nakuru, got married to Steve Damelin at a ceremony held at Ann Arbor, MI, on Saturday afternoon. Soon after the event, the two were seen at the Square’s gardens kissing and fondling in public as friends and family members who had accompanied them cheered. Mr Kararu Ririi, a close friend to the couple and a self confessed gay Kenyan residing in California, tweeted the following on Saturday shortly after attending the wedding: “This afternoon I had a chance to congratulate my friend, Ben and his husband, Steve on occasion of their marriage. It is a rare thing to see a Kenyan man so courageous! Congratulations.” Gitau lived in Atlanta, Georgia, before moving to the state of California. Same-sex-marriage was legalized in the State of Michigan in June last year in a landmark US Supreme court ruling which struck down states’ bans on gay or lesbian marriages between two peop

Mugenda gets a new offer as chief of healthcare

Former Kenyatta University vice-chancellor Olive Mugenda has been offered the position of chief executive in the institution’s healthcare arm at a pay similar to what she earned as VC. The university’s council made the decision to offer Prof Mugenda the job on March 2, two weeks before she retired, citing the need for continuity in the nascent healthcare arm dubbed Kenyatta University Healthcare Systems Ltd (KUHCS). Prof Mugenda, who retired on March 18, led KU for a decade when she instituted many healthcare projects, including a referral hospital, a mortuary and a children’s hospital. “The appointment is for a term of three years with effect from May 11, 2016, which is not renewable,” Ratemo Michieka, the university’s chairman of Council wrote in the May 4 offer letter. “The appointment is made to facilitate the smooth transition of the project. In making this decision, the Council is cognisant of the need for continuity and smooth institutionalisation of the KUHCS Limited

Collins Injera breaks rugby sevens' try record at London finale

Collins Injera became the leading try scorer in rugby sevens on Saturday, and it was a family celebration for the Kenya star. Injera crossed the line four times on the opening day of the final round of the 2015-16 Sevens World Series in London, taking him past the previous record of 230 set by Argentina's Santiago Gomez Cora. He had much reason to thank older brother Humphrey Kayange , who set him up for his 231st try in the dying seconds of Kenya's 29-12 defeat by France. Injera's proud father Injera sank to his knees and looked to the gray skies above Twickenham, before running off the field to celebrate with his parents watching proudly in the stands. "I've played this sport since high school, and when I started out I wanted to go for the record," the 29-year-old said pitchside after the game. "It was a huge thing -- getting it with my brother, who was mentoring me a lot, telling me what to do and what not to do. It's a specia

Francis Atwoli Again !!

Francis Atwoli was elected unopposed as COTU secretary general for a fourth 5-year term in elections held in Kisumu. “Although Atwoli initially wanted to step down, the overwhelming support across various workers unions made it impossible for him to quit active union politics,” said Kuppet Secretary General Akello Misori. Atwoli succeeded the late Joseph Joy Mugalla in 2001. The giant trade union was founded by Tom Mboya, who was Cotu’s Secretary General for 10 years from 1953 and was succeeded by Peter Kibisu in 1963.

To The Girl In Her Mid 20s

You’ve spent so many years looking forward to this phase of your life. And it always looked so cool. So glamorous. So filled with love and laughter. Yet here you are. With knowledge that it’s anything but. It’s messy buns and messier lives. It’s baggy shirts and overflowing laundry bags. It’s a lot of work and never enough money. It’s freedom with responsibilities. And life is no longer what it seemed. Different people are doing different things. Your best friend’s getting married. Your old classmate is killing it with success. Your ex is happy in love. Your old mate is drowning in drugs. Different people are doing different things. But not you. You’re just existing. You’re getting through everyday a little better than the last. But then you have days where you can’t get up at all. You spend your Friday evenings holed up in a corner because you’re too responsible to drink your night away. Too control freakish to lose yourself to someone else’s tunes. But somehow, this i

A WOMAN WROTE

I am writing to you in order to make someone understand that it's good to appreciate our partners despite their flaws. I am 32 years old. My ex hubby & I dated for six years. We where best of friends, I waited until he completed college and started work, my family and his family then met, we got married and had a son. (7 years old now). My husband was short tempered at times, but our problems started when I wanted to make him feel he couldn't control me. Every time we argued, I would pack my bags, go to my family and explain. My sisters would phone my husband and shout at him. If he was controlling me I would always dare him that if he wished, he could divorce me. I never wanted divorce, I just had pride and I never wanted to look like a loose woman in his eyes. One day I pushed him so hard that for the first time he beat me and locked me outside. I went to my family, my family took him to the police, every time I looked like I was being abused! But to be honest,

WHY HAVING A ‘SPONSOR’ APPEALS TO MANY KENYAN YOUTH

By JACQUELINE KUBANIA, @jacqy_oh More than half of Kenyan youth believe it is okay to cheat on their partners with richer people, according to a new survey. Of those interviewed, 65 per cent said it was okay to have what they call “a sponsor”, while 33 per cent confessed to having one. That means one in three young people in the country is probably cheating on their partners with a richer lover, and two out of three approve of this nefarious arrangement. The study, by communications company A Well Told Story,  interrogated youths’ relationships with, and attitudes towards their love lives, their sources of income, how they spend their money, as well as what they do for fun. The study was dubbed #sexmoneyfun. The term “sponsor” is a colloquial expression among the young, used to refer to older and more financially stable men and women whom young people date, chiefly for financial gain. The existence of “sponsors” was found to further muddy the murky sexual lives of the yout

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others

“Comparison is the thief of joy.” —Theodore Roosevelt By Faith Mutahi I’ve struggled with it most of my life. Typically, I blame it on having a twin brother who is five inches taller with much broader shoulders. But if I was being truly honest, more likely, it is simply a character flaw hidden somewhere deep in my heart. I’ve lived most of my life comparing myself to others. At first, it was school and sports. But as I got older, I began comparing other metrics: job title, income level, house size, and worldly successes. I have discovered there is an infinite number of categories upon which we can compare ourselves and an almost infinite number of people to compare ourselves to. Once we begin down that road, we never find an end. The tendency to compare ourselves to others is as human as any other emotion. Certainly I’m not alone in my experience. But it is a decision that only steals joy from our lives. And it is a habit with numerous shortcomings: Comparisons
