Barely a day after a top chief executive declared his wealth, another CEO has followed suite and revealed his millions. Kenya Commercial Bank chief executive Joshua Oigara on Thursday revealed that his monthly salary is Sh4.9 million with a net worth of Sh220 million. The new teams, which will be responsible for audit of transport safety in counties, among other tasks, are expected to start working in January. The teams will be expected to make licensing and registration of vehicles easier as NTSA brings its services closer to the people. Mr Samuel Musumba of NTSA said the committees are part of the agency’s plans to devolve its functions to the counties. “There will be no need for people to rush to Nairobi on issues of licensing and registration, for instance,” he said in a phone interview with the Nation. The head of Kenya's largest publicly-traded company has declared personal wealth of Sh276.76 million, saying he wants to increase transparency in the public and private sectors as part of efforts to fight graft in the East African nation. Sports Cabinet Secretary Hassan Wario has called on football delegates in the country to vote out Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Sam Nyamweya in order to effect change in the country’s football scene. An Employment and Labour Relations court in Nakuru awarded a watchman Sh1.7 Million as compensation in an unlawful termination of employment suit. Jared Odhiambo Ojao had claimed that Poly Pipes Ltd sent him home on July 1, 2014 through word of mouth. “I reported to work as usual but the employer told me that my services were no longer required," Ojao told the court. The plaintiff also told the court that he was dismissed without a letter and had not committed any offence. Although Poly Pipes Ltd did not deny the accusations, Judge Stephen Radido went ahead and ruled that Mr Ojao be awarded Sh1,388,640 in overtime dues and underpayments of Sh58, 573, among other payments that sumed up to Sh1.7 Million. Justice Radido ruled that the Employment Law required an employer to give at least 28 days written notice of employment termination and be paid by the month. The Strathmore University Management Board has finally broken the ice on the botched security drill that ended in the unfortunate death of one staff member and injury of scores others. In a statement released Monday evening, the Vice Chancellor Prof John Odhiambo said the board offered “an unreserved apology to every student, parent, family, colleague and stakeholder for the unfortunate outcome of the security drill that was carried out in the university on 30th November 2015”. “We particularly offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Esther Kidambi, the member of staff we lost as a consequence of this security drill. BY STAR REPORTER Deputy President William Ruto has given out at least Sh17 million in harambees in 76 days alone – excluding contributions from his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Star has monitored Ruto's fundraisers across the country since September 13, as questions emerge about the DP's source of funds. According to a March 1, 2013 Kenya Gazette notice, the Salaries and Remuneration Commission pegged the salary of a deputy president at Sh1,402,500, before tax.
