Here are ten attractive features of the platform.

Subscribers will not use an Agent number or a Till number to carry out any transaction or buy goods and services. They will use a one-time eight-digit code to withdraw cash from an agent or ATM as well as to buy goods and services.

The T-kash code will be valid for10 minutes, and its generated free-of-charge upon initiating the withdrawal transaction, which is presented to an agent in exchange for cash, or keyed into the ATM.

Upon registration at an authorized agent, you can be able to access the T-Kash menu through a USSD code or the SIM toolkit.

It has a favorite five feature which allows subscribers to save up to five contacts of individuals, billers and bank accounts that they frequently transact with, within the platform.

Subscribers can invite other Telkom subscribers to sign up.

Besides buying airtime and Internet bundles, subscribers can transfer money to bank accounts and between T-kash wallets.

Has inbuilt security features that allow subscribers sending money to verify the recipient’s details before inputting the pin to avoid erroneous transactions.

Agents can perform deposit reversals within 10 minutes of the transaction. Using the T-kash code significantly reduces chances for an erroneous transaction such as sending money to wrong tills, when carrying out a purchase.

Subscribers are able to confirm the cost of a transaction before inputting their PIN.

CA sounds alert on fake software

The telecommunications sector watchdog has warned companies and individual Internet users from buying fake software, saying it now offers hackers the most common loophole for executing cyber-attacks. The Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), through the National Computer Incident Response Team Co-ordination Centre (National KE-CIRT/CC), warned on Thursday that cybercriminals have changed tack and are now using third-party software to deliver threats to unsuspecting users in an attempt to compromise and steal their personal data. “Though Kenya has not been adversely affected by such attacks as at now, the trend depicts a serious concern in cybercrime management and thus a precaution should be taken when dealing with outsourced products and personnel,” said acting CA director- general Christopher Kemei in a statement.
